I bought these because I have four young children and real candles would be dangerous for them. Our advent wreath sits on our dining room table and we light it at our meal times. It turned out quite well because the kids were excited and took turns who got to "light" the candles. We would not have let them do that with real ones. They were sad when we put them away!
